Rabelades Farm

Seeding Liberation

Rabelades Farm is a Black queer-led, Afroecological grassroots initiative, collectively run by four Black queer Afro-diasporic people.

We grow organic food on our small-scale farm and aim to make it accessible to marginalized communities, especially those affected by racism.  Our farm is dedicated to sustainable farming, community building, and reclaiming the countryside as a space of healing, resistance, and belonging.

We center Black queer ecology, a relational approach to land and life shaped by Black experiences and knowledge. This framework guides us in challenging binaries, reclaiming our ancestral land, and imagining sustainability through mutual care, cultural memory and collective resilience.

The farm is rooted in activism, ecological justice, and knowledge-sharing around African and Indigenous farming practices as a way of recovering our ancestral agricultural heritage. Our work bring together food sovereignty, land stewardship, collective care, and Black liberation.

For us, farming is not only a practical activity, but also a political and spiritual practice, that nourishes both the soil and our spirits. While we grow food and tend to the land, we grow community in the same caring way.

Our PoliticalVision

Land – Memory – Belonging

Knowledge Sharing and practical training

Through workshops for adults and youth, we share Black farming  knowledge, train future farmers, and reclaim agency through land –  centering it as a tool for liberation, community power, and ecological
care rooted in ancestral wisdom.

Providing organic vegetables

We aim to provide affordable, weekly organic produce to marginalized communities.

Working to dismantle systemic food injustice while building  long-term, mutually supportive relationships that challenge extractive producer-consumer models.

Ensuring access to nature for BIPoC

Rabelades Farm creates a safer space for BIPoC communities to connect with nature, heal, and recharge without fear of racism. By expanding  access to nature, we support BIPoC holistic well-being, strengthening  mental and physical health, resilience, and collective care.

Networking:

We are committed to building strong connections with LGBTQIA+ BIPoC and refugee communities in Berlin-Brandenburg to share knowledge on food,  farming, and social justice. By learning from each other, we strengthen  autonomy, amplify Black perspectives in climate justice, and increase
visibility of Black farmers in Germany and beyond.

If you like what we do, you can support us and get involved here.
